Captain B. Ramesh Babu
Captain Ramesh Babu is an Indian Navy veteran, who served the Navy as an Engineer for 25 years, followed by the Mazagon Dock for 15 years, to finally retire as an Executive Director heading the CSR department of the Shipyard. He has settled down in his native village in Central Travancore, with the aim of giving back to the society by serving the needy. While in service, Ramesh led a number of social projects, including building houses for the poor, supporting tribals, caring for HIV patients, helping slum children, providing health care, supply of rations during Covid, and rehabilitation of flood victims. He is the Managing Trustee of Spice of Life.
S. Radhakrishnan
Radhakrishnan is a Certified Financial Planner based out of Mumbai, currently staying at Aluva, Kerala. He managed the finances of various companies in Mumbai for 20 years in senior positions, leading teams that handled book keeping, accounting and auditing. Then he stepped into Independent Financial Consultancy, which he continues as a financial advisor and investment and insurance consultant. He is a socially committed alumnus of Sainik School, regularly keeping aside a small portion of his income for helping the needy. Radhakrishnan is a Trustee of Spice of Life, responsible for managing the trust funds.
Col T Jayaprakash
Col T Jayaprakash is an Indian Army veteran who served the Nation for 26 years in various capacities in J&K, North East and Srilanka as a frontline soldier and at various headquarters of the Indian Army involved in planning and coordination of military operations. He has served the United Nations in Central America to bring peace in the region after the cold war between the West and USSR ended. After taking early retirement from the Army, he worked in the corporate sector in Mumbai for a decade and was involved in CSR project like providing medical and ambulance services in rural areas. While serving in the Army in Kashmir, he was involved in Op Sadbhavana aimed at winning the hearts and minds of the local population through welfare measures and community development programmes. Presently he is settled in Cochin. He handles outreach projects of the Trust.

Admiral C Raghuram
Rear Admiral C Raghuram, VSM is a senior naval officer who has served the nation’s maritime security in multiple roles, ranging from warship operations and design to equipment support and combat system integration. He has outstanding academic credentials with degrees from highly reputed institutions in India and England. Still in active service, the compassinate Admiral, trained in caring of autistic children, supports the Missionaries of Charity and a number of similar institutions, along with his wife and son.
Dr. P Ushamani
A PhD holder from Indian Agriculture Research Institute, New Delhi, she served National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) in various capacities, before retiring as Chief General Manager of NABARD and the Managing Director of NABSAMRUDDHI, one of the financial subsidiaries of NABARD. A horticulturist by qualification, a development banker by practice and a financial expert by design, Dr Ushamani has proven expertise in project finance, development banking, women empowerment, community-led interventions, climate risk management and financial intermediation. Post retirement, she is settled in North Kerala, pursuing her passion in agriculture. Her life continues to be directed by her ‘Double P’ philosophy: concern for the Planet and care for the People.
Dr. G Satheesh
Dr G Satheesh is a reputed urologist, known for his medical abilities and social commitments. He served at different Govt Medical Colleges for more than four decades, often going beyond the call of duty to look after poor patients. Satheesh is well known for undertaking many challenging medical procedures to save severely ill patients and give them a new lease of life. Retired from Govt service, he is still at it, now as Head of Urology at SUT Medical College, Vattappara, Trivandrum, providing quality medical care at low cost.
Prof. N. G. Rajeev
Rajeev is a retired college professor, popular as an accomplished academician and amateur magician. He is Ramesh Babu’s childhood friend, and has always lived in the Kunnamthanam village. He is well connected in the area, presiding over the local library and a number of other social initiatives. Rajeev is the main link between Spice of Life and it’s rural beneficiaries, identifying needy people and the help they need.
Aruna
Aruna, a graduate in Animation Science and a post graduate in Computer Application is working as a front end developer in the start up ecosystem. At work, she specialises in building clean and intuitive user experiences for her clients. Outside of it, she is a wildlife and photography enthusiast, often trekking through forests all over India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, and the African Continent, where animals give her endearing company and enchanting pictures. She lives in Mumbai, looking after her grandmother and providing web services to Spice of Life.
